Radio Pretoria is currently busy upgrading its equipment.
The upgrade consist of :
The 25 meter mast is replaced with a 100 meter high tower, which is already completed.
A modern antennae system are being installed.
A new sender unit of 3kW replace the old 1kW sender unit.
The sender room are being replaced by a new more effective , airconditioned room to keep the equipment cool and thus preventing it from overheating.
Lightning arresters are also mounted which cost about R60 000 (ZAR)
The upgrade will be completed by end April 2008
Radio Pretoria is also busy upgrading it's main building by replacing some equipment with new , more advanced equipment which will make a significant change to the quality of the broadcast.
